I’m traveling this week, so here are some things that make me smile regularly:
My kids.
Kids in general.
When I see signs of my kids growing up.
When Marcie laughs at my quirky behavior.
Beautiful photos my daughter Julie sends me that she takes with her iPhone. (See today’s featured image for one example.)
The sun, and especially incredibly gorgeous days.
Thunderstorms (except for the moment they scare me in the middle of the night, though I tend to enjoy listening to them after they wake me.)
When I see my friends.
When other people smile at me.
When my smile makes someone else smile (which leads to prolonged smiling by me.)
It’s a proven happiness strategy to list positive things. After doing this for three weeks, a wonderful by-product of this practice happened to me: Anticipating my weekly list got me thinking about it daily. As you know if you’ve read my book or this blog with some regularity, it takes 21-days to form a habit and this became a habit for me.
Your turn. What are some of the things that made you smile this week? Please join in with your comments here, or privately, or on the Six Simple Rules Facebook page…
